Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

There are two ways to write a novel. Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind). So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me? Pantser? I think? But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid. And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly. And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. SPIKE updatesJust thought I'd share with you guys some updates on the progress of finishing my "SPIKE" novel.

Bruised And Scarred-36

I couldn't sit still while I waited for Alex. I would go from sitting on the couch, to pacing back and forth, to sitting on the floor, then back to the couch. Jesse finally pulled on my arm until I sat down beside him.
"Kellin, calm down. Everything is gonna be okay." He said softly. I glanced at him, then over at the door. As if on que, Alex, Jack, and Gabe came walking through the door. What shocked me was, Derek came walking in behind them, with Justin's old fling, Alex Garcia.
"Wh-Why are they here..?" I heard myself say, even though my voice didn't sound like my own. Alex came over and wrapped his arm around me, but I could barely feel it. I could barely feel anything, in fact.
"He just wants to talk. He says he's moved on." Justin said. I saw the anger in his eyes, but the rest of him seemed calm.
"Okay. Talk. You have five minutes." I said coldly. Derek looked a little taken back, but nodded.
"I-I wanted to apologize for everything I did to you...I don't take my anger out on anyone anymore....A-And I've found someone who understands me..." I clenched my hands into fists.
"Really? That's great. Are you finished talking yet?" I said, straining to keep calm.
"Y-Yeah..." Derek seemed really hurt to see me like this, but I couldn't bring myself to care. After all he did to me, he thought saying sorry would just magically make it better?!
"Good. Now get out." I practically hissed. I felt Alex's arm tighten around me slightly.
"K-Kellin..." He said softly. I had never felt so much anger at one time.
"He said get out." I heard Alex say beside me.
